Santa on parade!

CHILDREN will be able to follow Santa and his sleigh as he travels through a Warrington shopping centre in a Christmas parade.
After the parade, which starts outside Debenhams in Golden Square, Santa will read a selection of enchanting Christmas tales to the assembled youngsters.
Children from Risley Day Nursery are especially excited about the event as they will be able to follow their own footsteps which mark the parade route. They were winners in the nursery category for Golden Square’s Kids make Christmas campaign.
Nursery children were encouraged to paint their footprints on paper, with the winning footprints of Alex Leadbeater, Ellie Bottomley, Theo Jamison and Thomas James, all of Risley Nursery being chosen.
Ian Cox, marketing manager at the centre, said: “This year Santa is doing even more at Golden Square shopping centre. Despite his busy schedule at this time of year, families will be able to see Santa and wave to him every weekend and throughout Christmas week as he parades through the centre on his sleigh.
“Families can then enjoy some special reading time after each parade as he reads some special Christmas tales and talks to the gathered children.”
Parade and story time takes place throughout the day until Christmas, on Saturday 12, Sunday 13, Saturday 19, Sunday 20, Monday 21, Tuesday 22, Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24.
