POLICE at Warrington today issued an appeal for help from the public following a robbery at an off-licence last week.
They have issued stills from a CCTV camera at the Bargain Booze shop in Westy Lane, Latchford where the robbery took place on the evening of Wednesday, December 2.
Shortly before 9pm two men entered the shop, armed with knives. One man threatened the shop assistant and made repeated demands to hand over cash from the till.
The second man stole cash from another till nearby. They then fled the store on foot in the direction of Kingsway South, making off with a three figure sum of cash.
The men are described as being between 18-20 years of age, slim build and around 6ft tall. The knives carried by the men were very distinctive, described as having curved 10 inch blades and ivory handles.
Fortunately, the shop assistant, a local woman in her 40s, was not injured as a result of the incident but was left in shock.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has any information in relation to the matter, to contact DC Neil Marsh at Warrington CID on 0845 458 0000.
Alternatively they can call the confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
