Bikers bare all – for charity

A MOTORBIKE-mad couple from Warrington are revved up after posing semi-naked for a charity calendar.
Debbie and Chris Allen, of Orford Road, feature in the ‘February’ shot of The Biker Calendar 2010, along with 20 other members of the North Harley Club.
The couple have been members of the club, which meets locally every month, for around 12 months. They were asked to take part in the shoot, along with other clubs across the country, to help raise funds for National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD).
Chris, 45, a site supervisor for a utilities company, has been into bikes all his life and takes centre stage in the shot with just a chair to hide his dignity.
His wife Debbie, 46, an HR assistant at United Utilities, said: “When we were asked to take part, we thought ‘Why not? – it’s for a good cause’.
“The photo shoot was hilarious. The picture was taken at our annual rally to kick start the season, back in April. It was a bit chilly but we’d had a few drinks the night before for courage!
“The pictures are tasteful and it’s a bit of fun isn’t it? If the WI can do it, so can we. I’ve shown it to some mates and people at work and they think it’s great.
“I think people will like it. My daughter is going to have one hanging in her house.
“Chris and I have six kids between us and they think it’s great that we’re bikers. We’re always out and about at rallies and meetings. We really enjoy it.”
More than 120 bikers from all over the UK, in various forms of undress, took part in the calendar, which the bikers hope will be the first of many.
The Biker Guide Calendar 2010 is already selling fast with £1 of every calendar sold being donated to NABD. Copies can be bought by visiting www.thebikerguide.co.uk
Rick Hulse, chairman of the NABD said: “I think it’s a fantastic piece of future ‘bikers’ memorabilia’ and should be extremely popular amongst bikers, particularly the fun-loving bikers from the UK rally scene.”
