ARTIST Julie-Ann Voce is hoping to create the right impression when she exhibits her artwork for the first time in November.
The mum of one, from Padgate, Warrington, has overcome depression and disability to turn a lifelong hobby into her dream job.
Julie, 44, will be showcasing her paintings and pastels for the first time when her exhibition opens at The Pyramid Arts Centre on November 3.
Despite having pain in most of her joints due to arthritis, Julie was keen to work, so she met with the employment team at Warrington Disability Partnership, who encouraged her to turn a life-long love of painting into a business.
She said: “Art has always been my hobby but my career has led me down various paths until now. At the age of 44, I can, at last, feel proud to call myself an artist.
“It is refreshing and fulfilling to reach this stage in my life and work at something I am passionate about and love doing. My paintings are expressive, inspirational, abstract and impressionist modern works.”
Members of the public can visit Julie’s exhibition for free from 8am until 5.30pm on Monday to Friday and 10am until 2pm on Saturdays for the month of November.
