Film makers' spoof news

WATCH a pot-hole appear on CCTV or see the Golden Gates mysteriously disappear, in a spoof news programme made by Warrington Cine and Video Society.
The group decided to take a comical look at local news as part of their summer workshop activities covering sport, traffic, travel and health. Viewers can see the finished film at the annual show next year.
But the society took a more factual approach when it put on an exhibition of films about the face of Warrington at the Older People’s Engagement Group (OPEG) event at the Gateway.
The films brought back memories to those who remember what Warrington use to look like, and were enjoyed by visitors including Mayor Brian Axcell.
Next month, society president Charles Ford will be giving a presentation of films as will Rob and Sheila Evans to mark 40 years of membership.
Warrington Cine and Video Society meet every Monday (except Bank Holidays) from 8pm to 10pm at Silver Band Hall, Loushers Lane. For further information, contact 01925 480822 or visit www.wcvs.net
