SOCCER mad schoolboy Tom Shepherd has little time for anything other than football these days.
The six-year-old Twiss Green Primary School pupil from Culcheth is having trial sessions with no less than three Premiership clubs – Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool!
That occupies three evenings a week and in between he plays at school and for Culcheth Athletic, where he was first “spotted” by scouts.
Tom is following in the footsteps of his dad, Andrew, who used to play for Rochdale.
Proud grandma Brenda Burke said: “Tom could kick a football before he could walk..
“He sleeps with a football and is mad about sport generally, taking the sports pages out of the newspaper before his dad can get at them!”
Tom is the son of Andrew and Helen Shepherd and has a twin sister, Gabby and an elder sister, Haley, aged 15.
