PRESTIGE awards to mark high standards of food hygiene and healthy menu choices were made to 50 Warrington businesses.
The Warrington Food Awards were presented by The Mayor and Mayoress, Brian and Irina Axcell at the Town Hall.
Awards are given by the council’s food safety team and recognise high standards in food safety and the inclusion of healthy nutritional choices on menus. They also take into account the use of Fair Trade products.
Coun Roy Smith, the borough council’s executive member for health and wellbeing, said: “I would like to congratulate all of the organisations that have won an award this year.
“This shows an impressive level of commitment to achieving high standards in food safety and also in offering their customers healthy eating choices.”
Any organisations interested in gaining a Food Award should contact the council’s food safety team on 01925 442577.
