County honour for Warrington pair

TWO Warrington men are among seven new Deputy Lieutenants appointed by Lord Lieutenant for Cheshire William Bromley Davenport.
They are solicitor Norman Banner and retired dental surgeon Geoffrey Hawley.
Mr Banner, of Warrington, is a director of St Rocco’s Hospice.
He has been chairman of Warrington Crossroads Care Attendant Scheme and chairman and president of the scheme’s national association.
More recently he has been chairman of Warrington Hospital NHS Trust and of North Cheshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Mr Hawley, of Lymm, has been a magistrate since 1995 and is currently deputy chairman of Warrington Magistrates. He is vice chairman of the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Committee for Cheshire on Justices of the Peace, is chairman of Lymm Cancer Research Committee and was, until last year, chairman of Governors at Lymm High School.
