THE police crackdown on drug related crime in Warrington has continued with raids on two properties.
Officers executed a warrant at an address in Duxford Court and seized a quantity of suspected drugs along with drugs paraphernalia.
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs. He helped police with their enquiries throughout the day and was later bailed pending further forensic enquiries.
Officers also raided a house in Rowland Close where a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply. He helped police with their enquiries throughout the day and was bailed pending further enquiries.
Inspector Richard Spedding said: “These latest warrants are part of ongoing efforts by Warrington East Neighbourhood Policing Unit to tackle the issue of suspected drug use and supply in the local community.
“Over the past few months we have executed a number of warrants, arrested a number of people and seized what is believed to be a large amount of Class A and B drugs.”
He said the latest warrants, as with earlier ones, were as a result of information, which was passed on by members of the public.
“We would urge people to continue passing on any information to us. Remember every piece of information – no matter how small – is useful when piecing together a case,” he said.
“We are committed to tackling the issues that are affecting the quality of life of the local community and residents can rest assured that we will continue to take positive action. We will not tolerate any sort of behaviour that has a negative impact on the quality of life of others.”
Anyone with any information about drug related crime is urged to call Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000. Information can also be passed anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
