MP backs call for volunteers

WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones backed an appeal for more volunteers when she attended the annual general meeting of Home Start Warrington.
The AGM took place at Winwick Leisure Centre and marked the 10th Anniversary of the organisation, which is currently seeking more volunteers who could give two or three hours a week to help the community.
The MP said: “Home Start is an excellent initiative which provides support for many families in Warrington. It has gone from strength to strength in the past ten years. The workers and volunteers have done a tremendous job and I am sure will continue to do so for a long time to come.”

  1. Nice to see someone earning as much as she does from the public purse advocating doing a bit of voluntary work…… When every aspect of her existance for the past few parliaments has been paid for by the hard pressed taxpayers of this country I think she has an unbelieveable cheek to ask someone to volunteer and work for nothing

  2. Last time I was here several months ago, I was moaning about Helen Jones jumping on someones bandwagon, just getting her name about, supporting this, commenting on that…nothing has changed has it…HELEN DO SOME WORK !
