LYMM High School played host to the Eurotalk Junior Language Challenge Semi Finals.
During the past six months 2,000 primary school children throughout the UK have been competing in various interactive challenges in Greek.
Thirty children from the North West heats visited Lymm for the semi final, and the language chosen was Korean.
In a close competition Lukeman Patel and Wolodymyr Krywonos won through to the final. Daniel Jones and Anne Stairmond had to undergo a nail biting tie break. Daniel won and the three boys will join 30 other qualifiers in the National Final at the Language Show Exhibition at Olympia.
The language then will be Swahili, and the winner will be awarded a trip to Africa where they will open a mobile classroom on behalf of the Thare Machi Organisation.
Lymm High will be promoting the Eurotalk Junior Language Challenge to its partner primaries in a bid to get local youngsters involved.
