CATERING students at a Warrington college have been given a masterclass in cookery skills with a tatste of Russia.
The Mayoress of Warrington Irina Axcell attended Warrington Collegiate with her Mayoral husband Brian, to help prepare students for a Russian-themed dinner event they are hosting in aid of the Mayor’s Charity Appeal later this month.
The Mayoress demonstrated techniques from her native country in the Buckley’s kitchen and gave advise on the preparation of the three-course meal they will be making, which includes Russian delicacies such as polar bear torte!
Buckley’s restaurant was opened in 2007 and is purpose built for Warrington Collegiate students, giving them a fully functioning and well-equipped professional kitchen and restaurant to train in.
There are still places available for ‘A Flavour of Russia’ in support of the Mayor’s Charity Appeal 2009/10 which will take place at Buckley’s Restaurant on Wednesday October 21 at 6.45pm for 7.00pm. Tickets include an authentic Russian 3-course dinner with champagne reception and half a bottle of wine per person.
For more information about this event and to buy tickets please contact the Civic Office on 01925 442144.
