MENTAL health service representatives from Warrington took part in a regional conference with guests including Ruby Wax and Sir Bobby Charlton.
The 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Trust, which provides mental health services in Warrington, joined the event which showcased projects and services across the North West.
The event, at Old Trafford, gave the trust the opportunity to showcase its work on Patient Opinion, Essence of Care and Patient Safety.
It also demonstrated its involvement scheme and its use of a Big Brother-style booth to obtain feedback. Service users and carers took part.
Emma Parkes, assistant director of marketing and communications, said: “It is great to be able to share our innovative use of the Big Brother booth as we are the first trust in the north-west to use it.
“It has been an incredibly successful way of us getting real-time opinions. It is a new way of getting feedback from service users and carers as well as the general public, which doesn’t involve traditional surveys. We can get the feedback straight away.”
She said views gained were used to improve services and inform its anti-discrimination campaign.
Derek Taylor, non-executive director, said: “The first time I saw the footage I was blown away. The frankness of the feedback was terrific, both good and bad.”
It is a “diary room” style booth, with a video camera where people can sit and give their views on the trust and mental health.
