WARRINGTON Wolves’ skipper Adrian Morley would be a deserving winner of Rugby League’s prestigious “Man of Steel” award according to Head of Coaching Tony Smith.
Morley is on the shortlist of three for this year’s Super League Man of Steel award and Smith says he has not has a bad game all season.
The 32-year-old prop has already won a double accolade at the club’s own awards ceremonies and has also been named in the Super League Dream Team.
Now he lines up against last year’s winner, St Helens’ prop James Graham and Huddersfield full back Brett Hodgson for the prestigious individual award.
As part of Warrington’s wembley-winning team, Smith says Morley has not had a bad game all season, just a couple of quiet ones!
The winner, voted for by their peers, will be announced on October 5 at a gala dinner in Manchester.
Meanwhile warrington-worldwide Editor Gary Skentelbery has been trawling through the huge archive of Wembley photos to publish a gallery of “Wembley uncovered” featuring previously unseen action pictures, celebration pictures and a variety of photos showing the barmy army in full voice.
Pictures show Adrian Morley with Tony Smith and Morley being tackled at Wembley.
