FORGET Dwain Chambers, Warrington Wolves have a new Aussie speedster who is in a league of his own.
Gareth Jones can do the 100 metres in less than three seconds…albeit on the back of a superbike!
Gareth, who hails from the Gold Coast in Australia, is staying Warrington until November when he competes in the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup, a support class to the World Superbikes Championship.
His family are from Warrington and are massive Wolves fans who were all determined to introduce Gareth to the splendour of the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
He commented: “Warrington is a great base for me, my cousins are all here and they’ve helped me to settle in. They are all mad keen Warrington supporters and want me to follow in their footsteps.
“I love the footie, my team’s the Gold Coast Titans. I’m looking forward to taking in the games here when I’m not racing and I hope the Wolves fans keep an out for my results while I race around Europe.”
The club has provided him with a shirt and scarf to wear as he visits various circuits around Europe.
British bike fans will be able to catch Gareth racing at Brands Hatch on August 3 and Donnington on September 7.
His next race is in Assen, Holland on April 27. For more information about Gareth, log on to Garethjonesracing.com or myspace.com/87gj
