WARRINGTON Wolves’ international pack men Ben Westwood and Ben Harrison (pictured above) have committed their future to the club with two year contract extensions.
The extensions keeps Westwood at the club until November 2013 and Harrison until November 2014.
Both players are part of the travelling England squad for this year’s Four Nations tournament Down Under. This call-up comes at the end of a successful year for both players after having already lifted the Carnegie Challenge Cup at Wembley for the second consecutive year.
Ben Westwood has had a memorable all-round season picking up three awards at the club’s End of Season Dinner being named Players Player of the Year, Supporters’ Trust Committee Award and Player of the Year. He was also one of three Wolves players to be named in this year’s Dream Team following performances that were continually recognised amongst those throughout the sport.
Missing only two games this season Ben Harrison has gone from strength to strength on the field taking his career appearances for the club to 60. At only 22 years old Ben has a long career ahead of him.
This long-term commitment emphasises how far the club has come in creating a professional coaching and performance team under Tony Smith that players want to remain a part of.
Ben Harrison commented on signing his new deal: “I’m delighted to have secured my future at the club and want to be part of the successful future that the club’s going to have. It’s the only club I’ve been at and I don’t want to be anywhere else. We have a great set of fans, players and staff so I didn’t hesitate when I got the opportunity to extend my time with the club.”
Ben Westwood (pictured below) added: “I am delighted to have signed an extension. The club is certainly going in the right direction. We’ve won two trophies now and I’d love to win some more. I’m happy at the club and have made it my new home having been here eight years now so looking forward to reaching the 10-year milestone.”
