Council and police hold joint surgeries

COUNCILLORS and police have been helping the public with their enquiries at a series of joint surgeries held in Culcheth.
Local police officers and borough councillors from Culcheth and Croft have been working together over the past few months holding surgeries at Age Concern, Jackson Avenue.
The sessions, on the third Saturday of the month, are between 10.30 and 11.30am.
PCSO Steve Dodd said: “The surgery is like a one-stop-shop where local residents can call in and discuss problems that are affecting them or their community.
“By having the opportunity to speak to the councillors as well as ourselves at the same time means we can often work out an action plan to resolve the problem there and then.”
Coun Les Hoyle said: “It is important that we all work together in partnership to address the concerns of the community.
“So far the members of the public who have attended have been pleased that we have addressed the issues that they raised. Often people attend with what they believe will be a police issue but in fact can be dealt with by the council.”
