A superb individual try from winger Kevin Penny broke the deadlock on 16 minutes when he showed a great turn of pace to burst through the Leeds defence. Stefan Ratchford added the extras to make it 6-0.
With defences on top it was 33 minutes before the scoreboard was troubled again when Gareth O’Brien kicked through for Ratchford to touchdown under the sticks. Ratchford added the simple conversion to make it 12-0.
Warrington extended their lead to 18-6 on 56 minutes through Ryan Atkins, with Ratcford again on target.
Leeds threatened a fight back with a sweeping move which saw Briscoe go over with Sinfield adding the extras but Warrington’s defence remained tight to hold on for a well deserved victory.
