TWO people were arrested after suspected drugs were seized when police raided a house in the Cinnamon Brow area of Warrington.
The raid was part of the continuing crackdown on drug related crime in the town.
A 31-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances with intent to supply.
They helped police with their enquiries throughout the day and the man was bailed pending further enquiries. The woman was released without charge.
A number of other items – including mobile phones – were also seized from the property.
Later there was a raid on another property in Manchester Road but no-one was arrested and nothing was seized from the property.
Inspector Richard Spedding said: “Warrington East NPU is committed to tackling the issues that matter to local residents. We take the issue of illegal drugs extremely seriously and will not hesitate to take positive action where necessary.
“These warrants follow on from a number of other warrants that we have executed across the Warrington East area this year.
“We hope that the actions of local officers show our commitment to target suspected criminal activity within the local community.
“We will not tolerate any sort of behaviour, which has a negative effect on the quality of life of others.
“Information from members of the public is vital in the fight against drug related crime and we would urge anyone with any information to please get in touch.”
Anyone with any information about drug related crime is urged to call Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000. Information can also be passed anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
