TWO men have appeared in court charged in connection with the theft of children’s Christmas presents from a house at Warrington.
The pair – one aged 30 and the other 28, both from Warrington were remanded in custody by North Cheshire Magistrates and will next appeared at Chester Crown Court on December 1.
Police said a burglary occurred at a house in Poplars Avenue, Orford on Thursday, November 20
A large number of children’s toys, bought as Christmas presents, were stolen.
The defendants were arrested following an investigation which led to the presents being recovered from a house in Warrington.
In addition, officers also recovered other Christmas presents which had been stolen from a vehicle on Mardale Avenue, Warrington, on the same night the burglary had occurred.
The pair have both been charged with burglary and theft from a vehicle.
DC Vicky Goodwin, from Warrington said: “I am extremely pleased that we have been able to reunite the presents with their rightful owners in time for Christmas.
“The victim in this case was extremely upset after discovering that all of their children’s presents had been stolen, but thanks to the hard work of our team they will hopefully be able to have an enjoyable Christmas.”
