Police probe town centre blaze

POLICE are investigating a fire which broke out in a commercial building in Warrington town centre early today.
The blaze involved a building in Winwick Street, opposite Warrington Central Station.
Two fire engines from the nearby fire station were called to the scene and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet, strike jet and one covering jet to extinguish the flames.
The roof was checked for signs of fire.
Police controlled traffic during the operation.
