Lymm half backs light up win against French

LYMM RFC’s Junior Colts half backs, Mark Dixon and Alex Mitchell, played together for England Under 17’s recently, beating France with the last move of the match.
They played half of the first half together before Mitch was substituted. Mitch created the first England try with tricky open field running before feeding one of the many ‘speedsters’ who scored. This is the first time in Lymm Rugby Club’s history that two Lymm players have played in an international match together.
Mark didn’t start but got on after 10 minutes due to an injury. He played the rest of the match and gave a very composed performance against a very good and intimidating French side who had been unbeaten in five matches.
Dixon made a break from a ruck five metres out feeding the England 6 who scored.
The squad were coached on the Thursday afternoon by Stuart Lancaster, Mike Catt and Andy Farrell – what a fantastic experience for young England players.
No young England team has lost a game this year!
Watch this space for future honours – the future’s bright in green, black and white!

Picture shows the ‘last and winning try’ with the final play of the game to snatch a fantastic victory. The dejection of the French players and Mark’s elation say it all.
