Tories to fight every council seat

THE Conservatives are to fight all 19 seats to be contested in the Warrington Borough Council elections next month.
Their main aims will be to:
* Keep council tax as low as possible while continuing to run a balanced budget.
* Cut waste and inefficiency in order to protect local services.
* Make sure that Warrington Borough Council is run as efficiently and transparently as possible.
Warrington South MP David Mowat, Warrington North deputy chairman Paul Campbell and Conservative Group leader Cllr Paul Kennedy met at the Town Hall to unveil their list of candidates for the elections on May 22.
Mr Mowat said: “Conservatives in Government have a long term economic plan to secure Britain’s future, but we also need Conservatives on Warrington Borough Council to deliver value for money at local level.
“We have a great and diverse team of candidates standing across the borough who will be able to achieve that.”
Culcheth, Glazebury and Croft Candidate Paul Campbell said: “Since 2011, Labour councillors seem to have spent more time fighting each other than fighting for the people of Warrington.
“In the last two years we have had three Labour councillors suspended, police investigations and the police having to be called to the Town Hall. Warrington deserves better.”
Cllr Kennedy added: “Conservative councillors have a proven track record of working hard for their wards and the borough as a whole. Conservative involvement in the running of Warrington Borough Council ensures that council taxpayers get value for money services, jobs are created and new homes are built.
“We have an excellent team of candidates and I look forward to being joined by many of them after the elections in May.”
