Hunt for abusive rail user

BRITISH Transport Police officers have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following a staff assault incident at Warrington’s Bank Quay railway station.
The incident happened at around 5pm on Tuesday, September 11, in the subway of the station.
A man was heard to have a heated argument during a phone conversation and was approached by rail staff as he became agitated and was swearing loudly and making threats to the person on the other end of the phone.
When approached by rail staff he became even more abusive and directed his anger towards the staff.
PC Mike Woodward said: “The man was asked to leave the station, but he became aggressive and pushed one member of staff away from him.
“Thankfully a second member of staff was able to help and the man was persuaded to leave Bank Quay.
“We believe he then left the station and headed to Warrington Central where he boarded a train to Widnes.”
PC Woodward added: “We have viewed CCTV from the time of the incident and believe the man pictured has key information about the assault.
“We simply will not tolerate any aggressive behaviour toward rail staff or passengers and will do everything in our power to locate offenders and bring them to justice.”
Any one who recognise the man, or has any information about the incident, please contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously,
on 0800 555 111. In all calls please quote log 500 of 11/9/2012.
