TWO fire crews tackled a car fire outside a property on Winwick Park Avenue, Warrington, during the early hours of Saturday morning.

The saloon car was well alight when firefighters arrived at 04:47 and the fire had spread from to the nearby garage door and fascia boards.

Firefighters used a hose reel and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames. A further two cars that had been parked adjacent had suffered considerable heat damage from the blaze.

The firefighters damped down and used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there had been no further spread at the property and once satisfied, they left after around one hour and twenty minutes.

Later the same day Firefighters were called to deal with a road traffic collision on Thelwall new Road at 14:17. It involved a single saloon car which was on its roof and the driver had managed to get out. He was checked over by paramedics and spoken to by police, while the fire service made the vehicle safe.
