PRIME Minister Theresa May’s decision to hold her first regional cabinet meeting at Daresbury delighted Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans.
Commenting on the launch of the Government’s Industrial strategy Green Paper at Sci-Tech Daresbury Mr Evans said: “I was delighted to welcome the Prime Minister to Sci-Tech Daresbury to unveil the Government’s Industrial Strategy for the UK in her first regional Cabinet meeting.
“The Industrial Strategy Green Paper included a £556m boost for the Northern Powerhouse alongside a £4.7bn fund for science, technology, engineering and innovation.
”This is great news for the people of Weaver Vale, ensuring research and development funding for high skill, high wage jobs – and it is testament to Sci-Tech Daresbury and the Northern Powerhouse that the Prime Minister chose to hold her first regional Cabinet meeting right here in the heart of Cheshire.”
