Man’s body found on footpath near Mersey

THE body of a man was found on a footpath by the River Mersey, near Centre Park Square, Warrington shortly before 2pm today.
A member of the public discovered the body and reported it to police.
A police spokesman said the man was believed to be in his 50s.
They are investigating the circumstances but do not believe there is anything suspicious about it.
The cause of death is being treated as unexplained pending a post mortem examination.
