CHILDREN leaving Warrington Primary schools this summer have achieved “amazing” KS2 results and are continuing to outperform comparable schools across the North West and England, according to the borough council.
They are providing local primary school children with a good start in their school life and embedding strong attitudes to learning from an early age, the council says.
The latest provisional results show 84 per cent of local children have achieved the expected grades in reading, writing and maths at KS2 and 27 per cent, exceeding expected grades in all three areas.
The outcomes achieved reflect the hard work of children but also the increasingly high standards of teaching and learning and support provided by schools across Warrington.
Cllr Jean Carter, the council’s lead member for children’s services, said: “The results for this summer are fantastic yet again. We are extremely proud of all the local children who have made such a good start in their education and I hope they will continue to enjoy learning, and do even better as they move into their high school education.”
There has also been a significant increase in the levels of development of children in nursery education, with 68 per cent of children achieving a good level of development at the end of their reception year.
Again, this exceeds the North West and England results and is a continuing a trend of improvement from last year where there was a significant increase of 15 per cent, ensuring that children in Warrington start life well.
