OLDER residents and those with disabilities in Warrington can now receive impartial information and advice about their housing options in the town.
Jackie Denning has been appointed by Warrington Housing Association to help those in need by passing on knowledge and raising awareness among housing professionals who come into contact with older people in Warrington.
The new role, created with funding from the Department of Communities and Local Government, will see Jackie (pictured left) work with district nurses, social workers and community case workers.
The service will promote all properties available throughout Warrington as well as the services offered by Warrington Home Information and Improvement Agency.
Jackie, who has spent the last 19 years managing sheltered housing schemes, said: “The position will allow me to make it easier for residents to get the right information, offer advice and support where appropriate and ensure older and disabled people in Warrington are offered the best housing options.”
Alan Kemp, chief executive of Warrington Housing Association, said: “Housing choices can make a massive difference to the quality of life, health, safety and finances of people.
“Many older people and even professionals working with them do not appreciate the range of housing options that are available.”
