Poster exhibitions celebrate LGBT history in town

A POSTER exhibition celebrating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans history is to go on display at two Warrington libraries.
From Prejudice to Pride will run in the library at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub from February 24-29 and at Warrington Library from March 5-12.
The exhibition tells the story of LGBT history in Cheshire from 1800 to the present day, and aims to raise awareness of the prejudice faced by the LGBT community and how the Pride movement came about.
It will also be supported by two free social events called ‘Tea & Tattle’ where people can drop in and enjoy a brew and a chat – no need to book.
The first of these are being held on Thursday February 27 from 6pm to 7pm at Orford, which will also see Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service’s ‘Rainbow Fire Engine’ be stationed outside Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub.
Secondly, a Tea and Tattle session is to be held on Thursday March 5 from 11.30am to 1pm at Warrington Library.
The exhibitions are being organised in partnership by LiveWire’s Community Librarians team, and two local organisations.
These are Body Positive, a Cheshire-based sexual health charity, and Silver Rainbows, a social network for older LGBT people in the area.
