A GROUP of primary schools in Warrington and Widnes has topped the national performance league tables.
Warrington Primary Academy Trust (WPAT) was joint first in England for the percentage of pupils reaching expected standards in the Key Stage 2 SATs tests carried out in the summer, first nationally for performance in maths and fourth for writing.
The tables are based on the performance of Year 6 pupils across the schools that have been part of the trust for three or more years.
WPAT chief executive Louise Smith said: We’re absolutely delighted at our national standings in these performance tables, which are a reflection of the hard work that has been done in all our schools since we were formed in 2016.
“We are committed to the education of children in the communities we serve and we have been steadily expanding, welcoming Ditton Primary in Widnes recently. Our aim is to continue growing and working together to drive forward the improvement of all of our schools.
“WPAT provides its schools with a range of benefits – schools get the support, expertise and professional development from staff from across the trust so that they can provide the very best education standards for their children.”
WPAT school Bruche Primary was among the top performing schools in the country in the table for individual primary schools, with every Year 6 pupil meeting their age-related expectations in the tests in reading, writing and maths. The national average for this measure across all three subjects is 64 per cent.
WPAT is a community of over 1,700 children aged 2 to 11 in six primary schools and a teaching school, employing over 280 people. The trust was formed in 2016 and has quickly developed a national reputation for excellent standards.
