Air ambulance called to road crash

POLICE and firefighters and an air ambulance were called to a four-vehicle pile-up at Warrington this afternoon.
The crash was at the junction of Penny Lane and Collins Green, Burtonwood.
On arrival crews discovered that the collision involved four vehicles with a casualty trapped in one.
The vehicles were made safe and paramedics assessed the casualty and decided he was fit enough to get out of the vehicle unaided. He was then handed over to paramedics.
Rescue workers were at the scene for about an hour.
