Driver trapped after milk float in crash with heavy lorry

THE driver of a milk float was trapped in his vehicle when it was involved in a collision with a heavy lorry at Warrington early today.
Police fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene in Farrell Street shortly before 1.15am.
They found the man trapped in the milk float and a quantity of milk spilled in the road.
Firefighters released the trapped man and handed him over to the care of paramedics.
They then handed the incident over to the police.
Firefighters were in attendance for around 15 minutes.
Yesterday, a fire crew from Warrington was called to a house in Rock Road, Latchford.
The incident involved a fire in the kitchen, with a worktop behind a fixed cooker damaged. But it was out by the time firefighters reached the scene.
Firefighters cut away parts of the damaged worktop and tiles to ensure the blaze had not spread.
They were at the scene for about 45 minutes.
