Staycation

Times have changed a lot in the past ten years when the UK Media first used the term as a way of describing the Great British getaway.

At that time it appeared people were sacrificing their traditional overseas holiday for something less expensive and less exciting!

Short breaks may be by definition shorter, but that does not mean you should be prepared to compromise on quality. The investment in accommodation and facilities we have seen on home soil over the last decade means the ‘staycation’ is no longer a fad. In particular; there is great demand for luxury lodges with hot tubs. There are hot tub retreats nestled deep in the forest to quirky beach huts with stunning sea views.   You can escape to a beautiful cottage, stunning barn, or hop aboard a stylish boat. Suitable for all the family and even pets can go free in some accommodation. What could be more special than a weekend away in the Cotswolds with the grand-children? A cheeky second or third little break before or after your main holiday.

One of the major operators has teamed up with a leading group exercise provider to offer children a ‘virtual fitness programme’ called BORN TO MOVE. Incorporating a range of fun, physical movement patterns, such as martial arts, dance and yoga. The programme aims to encourage children to have fun moving to music. The virtual classes are tailored for age groups ranging from four to 16. They also intend to trial several adult virtual programmes at three locations – Craig Tara Holiday Park in Scotland, Hopton Village near Great Yarmouth and Little sea Holiday Park in Weymouth. Families can book in to attend classes prior to arriving at the park by downloading a what’s On App.

The live Music Weekenders at Butlins are back for the Summer season with a series of weekend breaks available across May and June starting from £79 per person. Taking place across all three resorts, guests can boogie on down to classics at the Absolute 80’s weekender, enjoy performances from the pop superstars of the 90’s or jam to the best of the naughties! All the Live Music Weekend breaks will be hosted across multiple indoor venues with options spanning decade themed party breaks, big arena shows, festival experiences and even sporting events. Come in to see Sandra, who can give you the low down on the resorts having recently enjoyed a ‘girlie’ trip with her Mum and daughter (three generations having a fun weekend away).

So please remember we are not here to assist with your overseas holidays; we can assist with all types of ‘staycation’.
