Change of date for RL star’s mental health talk

A CHANGE of date has been announced for a talk by former Rugby League star Danny Sculthorpe at Warrington’s Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub.
The talk, in which the former player will talk about his own mental health journey, was originally to have been given on Wednesday, November 7. But it has now been put back a week to November 14, from 7pm to 9pm
Danny Sculthorpe played almost 300 games as a prop forward representing clubs including Warrington Wolves, Wigan Warriors and Widnes Vikings during his successful career – before a serious spine injury forced him into retirement.
This impacted on his mood and wellbeing and Danny went on to suffer from acute depression. However he recovered and is now a trustee of the State of Mind charity, which aims to improve the mental health, wellbeing and life of rugby league players and communities.
His talk, which follows on from a well received talk he gave at Orford Jubilee Hub earlier this year, is part of the “Movember” mental health initiative. Tickets are £2.50 and proceeds will go to that State of Mind charity.
