A REUNION dinner is to be held to mark the 40th anniversary of the final intake of pupils to the old Warrington High School for Girls.
It was 40 years ago this autumn that the final intake of girls took place before the school became Priestley College – and all former pupils, from the Menin Avenue and Palmyra Square sites are invited to the dinner.
One of the organisers, Jackie Leotardi, said: “It will be a chance for old friends to come together and swap memories of the school – both good and bad
Some “old girls” are making a special trip to attend from overseas, from countries such as Sweden, Malayasia, UAE and Ireland.  For others who regretfully cannot make the trip back, there will be a live online streaming of the highlight of the evening – the singing of the old school song “Non Nobis Domine” so that old friends can sing along and join in the fun from as far away as New Zealand, Australia and Canada.
Jackie said: “There are still a few tickets left for the event.  Details can be obtained via the Warrington High Scvhool for Girls Facebook Page.
To buy a ticket, which cost £50 each, please email [email protected] and payment instructions will be sent by reply email. Alternatively please call me on 01925 852221.  Please note the deadline for tickets is September 20 so please contact us for tickets as soon as possible!”
