DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following an incident when ball bearings were fired at a house in Culcheth, Warrington, last night (Tuesday).

Police received reports of an incident in the Culcheth area of Warrington at 10.32pm last night and swiftly attended the scene to find that a number of ball bearings had been fired at the front of a house on Doeford Close, causing damage to a window and door.

There were no reports of any injuries and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen a man wearing a dark helmet and riding a motorbike to come forward. We’re also keen to hear from any drivers who may have any dashcam footage in the area around the time of the incident.

Chief Inspector Sarah Pengelly, who is in charge of policing in Warrington, said: “I would like to reassure the local community that this is believed to be an isolated incident and officers are doing all they can to fully establish what happened last night.

“Clearly residents will be concerned and local officers will remain in the area over the coming days to provide reassurance. I would encourage anyone who has any issues or concerns to speak directly to a local officer.

“Information from the public is important and I would urge anyone who has any information in relation to this incident – no matter how small – to get in touch.”
