WARRINGTON and Vale Royal College is celebrating all things apprenticeships as part of a national initiative intended at getting more people signed up to the scheme.

National Apprenticeship Week runs from Monday March 5 to Friday March 9. The week aims to demonstrate the many benefits that apprenticeships bring to people, businesses, communities and the economy.

Now in its 11th year, the national event brings together everyone passionate about apprenticeships, and that includes Warrington and Vale Royal College.

Lisa Liddy, director of commercial development and apprenticeships, said: “At Warrington and Vale Royal College, we understand the importance of apprenticeships and the impact they have, not just on our learners, but on our employer partners and the local economy.

“Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to kick start your career as they give you both the experience and qualifications you will need in the future. As well as getting paid while you train, an apprenticeship also gets you in the right mind-set for working life.”

Lisa added: “We are passionate about working closely with employers across Cheshire to help develop their future workforce through the apprenticeship scheme. Warrington & Vale Royal College is in the top 6 per cent in the country for employer satisfaction. We are the best at what we do. Over 78 per cent of our young apprentices fully achieve their apprenticeship, which is 11 per cent ABOVE the national average, and at least 9 out of 10 apprentices continue in employment or receive a promotion once they have finished their apprenticeship.”

As part of National Apprenticeship Week,  the college will be celebrating the great success of its talented apprentices – including holding its first ever Apprenticeship Awards event on Thursday March 8. They will also be shining the spotlight on an apprentice every day of the week.
