A DELIVERY driver was threatened with a knife and had his van stolen in the early hours of the morning at Warrington.
The 59-year-old was delivering milk to a primary school on Old Hall Road at about 4am on Wednesday morning, police revealed today.
The van – a white Mercedes Sprinter, was then driven off in the direction of Twenty Actre Road and was later found abandoned in Cromdale Way.
Police say a silver coloured 4×4 vehicle they would like to identify was seen in the area at the time.
The was about 6ft tall, thin, with stubble on his top lip. He was wearing scruffy, dark clothing and had a hood up and a woolly hat underneath.
A police spokesperson said: “We are looking to speak to anyone who might have seen the silver 4×4 in the lead up to the robbery, the robbery itself or the van after it was left on Cromdale Way.
“This was a very scary incident for the victim who was just going about his normal business making milk deliveries to schools when he was targeted in the early hours and while alone. We want to catch those responsible. If anybody has any information please call Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 59 of February 14, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
