VIDEO: GLORIOUS sunshine greeted Stockton Heath Walking Day as hundreds of people lined the streets to watch the annual Bridgewater Churches walk together.
This year’s event, which was broadcast live by warrington-worldwide, was the first for Stockton Heath Methodists Revd. David Easton, who led the service on Alexandra Park.
The various churches and schools then set off on their annual walk through the village.
Onlookers included new MP for Warrington South Faisal Rashid, who stood alongside Parish Council Chairman Peter Walker to wave to the the walkers.
Business was booming in local restaurants and bars as villagers turned out in force to enjoy the sunny weather.

I was born in Stockton Heath and having left in 1959 and lived in Italy and now Leicester I wanted to experience the walking day one more time.I found it a great disappointment what happened to all the children getting dressed up my mum used to make us a posey to carry mums with prams dressed them in flowers Teddy Reddish the headmaster of st Thomas’s walked and always got great response.we lived in Stafford road I was the youngest of 8 and even tho we had very little mum made a great effort to get us dressed up.You would never have seem men carrying the banners in shorts and none too clean trainers.
