THE killers of Warrington father of three Garry Newlove are to appear in court next month to appeal against the murder conviction and sentence.
Adam Swellings,20, from Crewe, said to be the ringleader of the gang that beat 47–year–old Mr Newlove to death, is attempting to overturn his conviction and minimum 17–year sentence.
He had pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Mr Newlove during the trial at Chester Crown Court last November but denied murder.
Stephen Sorton, aged 18, of Honister Avenue, Orford, Warrington, is appealing against his minimum 15–year term at the Court of Appeal in London.
They will appear at the Royal Courts of Justice on November 13.
Both were found guilty in January along with 17–year–old Jordan Cunliffe of Rowland Close, Cinnamon Brow, who was jailed for 12 years.
