A £1,000 prize is up for grabs – for a poem about something or someone from Warrington.
Publishers United Press are for the fourth year in succession running a competition for people to write a poem about something from their home town.
The best poem will receive the £1,000 and other selected entries will be included in an anthology.
In the first year of the competition, thewinner was disabled poet Owen Lowery who wrote a poem about his own town, Billinge, near Wigan.
The second winner was Rotherham nurse Marjorie Beachill, and last year’s winner was Stephanie Spiers of Stafford who wrote a poem about her local river.
