POLICE officers in Warrington are carrying out environment audits while out on the beat in a bid to improve the appearance of the area.
Officers from Warrington East are looking to speedily rectify issues that directly affect residents and users perceptions of where they live.
The audits highlight examples of fly tipping, litter, graffiti, street lights not working and general damage.
Warrington Borough Council’s Street Team will work in conjunction with Birchwood Town Council to rectify the highlighted issues.
Sergeant Graham Waring from the Warrington East Neighbourhood Police Team said: “These low level problems can have a negative effect on people’s impression of an area and by addressing them rapidly we can minimises this.
“It is important that those who live and work in the community also report any issues.”
