Wolves star is all smiles!

WARRINGTON Wolves’ Aussie star Chris Hicks has been given something to smile about after he was fitted with a new tooth.
The Dental Academy – official sponsors of Wolves’ head coach Jimmy Lowes – fitted the club’s top point scorer with a dental implant to replace a tooth which was knocked out in training.
Hicks said: “The new tooth looks great, and it just goes to show that the loss of a tooth doesn’t mean you have to put up with a gap for the rest of your life. The Dental Academy has been looking after me since I took the knock in training earlier in the year. The treatment is now complete and I am really happy with the results.”

The treatment was carried out at the Chester Road practice in Daresbury by Dr Kevin Dobbs, clinical director.
He said: “Implants are a great way of replacing missing teeth as they are closely comparable to healthy teeth. The implant acts as an artificial tooth root in the jawbone. During the healing period, natural bone cells integrate with the implant and after it is healed an artificial tooth is anchored to the implant. Dental implants can replace a single tooth like Chris’ or a number of teeth at one time.”
The Dental Academy fully supports the club’s campaign to promote the use of gum shields for those playing contact sports.
