Stepping up the career ladder

BUSINESS professionals are being offered the chance to take a step up the career ladder with a new business degree being launched in Warrington.
The Warrington campus of the University of Chester will run a part-time Master of Business Administration course from its new state-of-the-art business centre.
Professor of Leadership Management, Caroline Rowland, said: “This Masters qualification will appeal to managers and those wishing to boost their management careers with the knowledge and capability to think strategically, as well as the softer skills needed to

succeed as a leader of people and change.
“The strong links the university has with world class private and public sector organisations inform the curriculum design and development of the MBA programme to meet the global challenges of the 21st century business environment.”
Starting in September, the programme is open to anyone who has a degree or equivalent qualification, and those who have relevant experience in management positions.
The course will be delivered over two years and will be taught in four blocks of four days each year, together with independent study, which involves research, personal investigation and completion of tutor directed tasks.
Professor Rowland added: “The new business centre is an ideal venue for the programme, as it is close to main transport links, making it accessible to anyone living in the North West.
“Tailor-made for busy professionals who need to fit their study around their work, the MBA also applies theoretical knowledge to practical workplace situations.”
