POLICE are appealing for information about a local man they believe could be responsible for a string of burglaries across Cheshire.
Officers are keen to talk to Stephen Ashurst, 51, from Lowton, near Warrington, in connection with a burglary at a house on Ashworth Park in Knutsford last December.
A number of items of jewellery were taken during the incident that occurred when the owners were out.
They also want to speak to him in connection with a raft of incidents throughout the county.
Cheshire Police want Ashurst to come forward and are asking anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact them immediately.
Officers say Ashurst does not pose a direct threat to the public, but are advising anyone recognising him not to approach him.
Information can be left by contacting Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 111 555.
