A MAN has been arrested in Warrington on suspicion of possessing a firearm and drugs offences.
Police arrested the 31-year-old after executing a warrant at an address in O’Leary Street. The man was later charged with possession of Class A drugs.
Officers seized what they believe to be a quantity of Class A drugs from the scene.
What appeared to be an imitation firearm was also found on the premises which was later found to be a BB gun, but no charges were brought in relation to the gun.
PC Simon Dean said: “This is yet another example of the excellent work that officers in Warrington are carrying out in local communities to tackle the issue of drugs.
“We are having a positive impact on tackling the issue and are getting the message across that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.
“We want to thank members of the public for their continued support with this issue and we would urge anyone with any information to get in touch and to help us to build up a bigger picture of what is happening.”
