AS national Carer’s Week gets under way today (Monday), an MP has lavished praise on the Warrington Carers’ Centre.
Warrington North MP Helen Jones said the work carried out by the centre was “exceptional.”
Carer’s Week aims to publicise the support carers have and highlight the advice and practical help which is available for those who may feel isolated, exhausted or ill as a result of their caring responsibilities.
The MP, who has a record of working with carers’ organisations in Warrington and nationally, said: “There are six million carers in the UK, including many in Warrington, and I’m pleased to be able to offer my support to them. They are not alone and there are people who want to care about them, too. Carer’s Week helps to get that message across.
“The work done in Warrington by a number of organisations, not least Warrington Carers Centre is exceptional and they deserve praise which they don’t always receive.
“I am also delighted that Warrington Primary Care Trust is actively consulting carers about how they are developing carers’ facilities at Garvin Place.”
