Orchard offers more than an apple a day

0

A FRUITFUL orchard in Warrington is offering the community a lot more than just an apple-a-day.
Situated towards the back of Victoria Park, behind Black Bear allotments, the Community Orchard Project has been set up by Groundwork Merseyside in connection with Warrington Borough Council.
The aim of the project is to encourage residents to learn new skills, offer them horticultural therapy and a chance to exercise in the fresh air.
It is hoped people will help maintain the various fruit trees and shrubs that have been planted there for years to come.
Every month there is an activity day at the site with the chance for residents to learn new skills.
For more information about the orchard and a programme of events at the site, contact Liz or Sara 0151 257 2720.
