WARRINGTON resident David Carey has taken a year off work as a teacher to fundraise for the blood cancer charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research – setting himself the challenge to write and produce a song every day.
David set himself the incredible challenge in a bid to raise £10,000 to help beat blood cancer. Every day he is writing and producing a one minute song relevant to something in the media that day.
His growing catalogue of tracks cover a wide range of topics with titles which include Bill Crosby’s Lawyer, Parking Wars and Je Suis Charlie.
David said: “I am motivated by my long-term goal of raising £10,000 in a year to help the many people whose ultimate hope is to win the ongoing battle with blood cancers; both in the care of patients and in the search for new treatments.”
Lauren Fraser, Regional North Assistant of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, said: Every penny raised helps us in our mission to beat blood cancer. We’ve been working to beat blood cancer for over 50 years and we wont stop until we do.
“We thank David Carey for choosing to support Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research and wish him the very best of luck for his challenge.”
